The Claymont Society allows other like-minded groups to use our facilities for seminars, conferences, and retreats that promote their own approaches to sustainable living and inner development. We have adult learning programs, seminars, retreats, conferences, a children’s school and farm, and various other programs that promote the goals of sustainability and continuous education. Those who work on and support these projects form the Claymont Community. Claymont aims at using the synergy of a diverse group of people engaged in a diverse set of projects, to cooperate together to form one well functioning organism that serves the aim of continuous education and also maintains the facilities and assets of the Claymont Society. All of these programs have education as their common thread and are inter-dependently related.

AKS Massage School, Inc.

AKS Massage School, Inc. (formerly Applied Kinesthetic Studies) has been training massage therapists and bodyworkers since 1992. The school also serves the local community through seminars, fieldwork, and affordable, student massage. Approved by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Education, AKS has a wonderful history. In 1992, V. Wendell Driggers founded AKS Massage School in Herndon, Virginia.

Our curriculum requires intense study and dedication to rigorous standards. Students respond to demands for their time and energies with physical and emotional fortitude. In fact, graduates (and their families) tell us that AKS changes them. They learn the anatomical language of muscles and bones and the esoteric language of touch. Students learn body mechanics that allow them to offer therapeutic massage without injuring themselves. They learn to pay attention to themselves, and to tune in to their clients with their ears, eyes, and hands.
