Our Certified HFC Overview Presenters have demonstrated a working knowledge of Healing From the Core principles and are able to hold a healing space for others to ground and fill at a deeper level. These presenters are qualified to teach smaller courses in their local area. |

Suzanne Scurlock-Durana, C.M.T, C.S.T.-D (Reston, VA) For more than twenty five years Suzanne has taught and mentored in the area of conscious awareness and its relationship to the healing process. She has developed a uniquely creative approach to energy, presence, grounding and integrative exercises taught beautifully in the Healing From the Core program, which includes a six level training series and a complementary audio series. All of this is based on her years of experience helping fellow healthcare practitioners hold a healing space for themselves, as well as developing their own therapeutic presence for clients and patients. She is passionate about teaching people practical skills that allow them to feel the joy of being present in each moment of their lives, without burning out. To that end, she has just completed a book and companion audio, Full-Body Presence: Learning to Listen to Your Body's Wisdom Since 1986 she has been a certified instructor of CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release with The Upledger Institute, teaching both nationally and internationally. She is also on the faculty at Esalen Institute, and provides ongoing staff development training there, as well as collaborating regularly with Emilie Conrad, integrating Continuum movement and healing presence. Known for her honest, grounded, nurturing manner, Suzanne assists others in going to the heart of their healing process. She is adept at weaving together mind, body, and spirit to create a unique environment where profound healing can occur. To accomplish this, she draws on her wealth of experience as a professional, teacher and therapist, a wife and mother, and generously shares from all areas of her life. Joanna Haymore, MS, OTR/L, (Durham, North Carolina) Joanna is a Healing From the Core Certified Instructor who believes in the human potential to live lovingly with oneself, other beings, and the planet. Joanna's background in somatic movement and bodywork, and her lifelong devotion to growth and discovery, enables participants in her classes to find the doorway into healing for themselves. She brings compassion, warmth and ease to the experience of coming into full body presence. Joanna's roots in the rural South add a depth and richness from her own personal experience that assists others to feel safe to explore new boundaries and develop life-enhancing skills. Angela Stevens, COTA, CST (Ashburn, Virginia) Angela truly walks her talk as a Healing from the Core Certified Instructor as she guides others through this deeply transformative process. Drawing from her personal healing journey of recovery from PTSD, Angela has refined her experience to provide an expertise that touches everyone. Angela has a way of connecting with her students through real life experiences that both clarify concepts and enhance the student's own healing process. She brings laughter, movement and her experience as an OTA to create a rich and meaningful environment for the entire group. "Angela is an excellent teacher who shares her heart and soul so openly and generously. In doing so, she creates an environment that is nurturing and safe, where each of us feel comfortable to share our hearts as well. What a gift!" Her practice includes all ages. Formerly a pediatric occupational therapist, she worked extensively with a wide range of pediatric diagnoses, primarily autism. Having raised four children of her own, she has developed a deep and compassionate understanding of the tenderness in a child's heart. She provides a strong, grounded, steady therapeutic presence that creates a safe environment for her students and clients to connect with their deepest healing potential. |

Lori Chinitz, PT (Long Island, NY) Lori is a Healing From the Core Certified Instructor, and a physical therapist with over 25 years of experience. Lori's strengths as an instructor flow out of her capacity to witness and support each person's unique journey. Her gentle, down to earth style of humor has often been a key in unlocking deeper doorways to healing. One of Lori's gifts is to create a space of safety and connection that allows everyone to feel recognized and heard. Lori combines her keen understanding of body, mind and energy dynamics to assist each person in their healing process. "It was as though Lori spoke directly to my inner critic. She got me in touch with parts of myself I have never been able to bring to conscious awareness before." "Lori's quiet, powerful presence created a sense of safety that allowed me to explore and heal memories I could not touch before today." When she is not teaching, Lori maintains a private practice in Syosset, New York and is the director/owner of A Step Ahead Therapy Services, a multidisciplinary Early Intervention Agency. In her practice she uses CranioSacral therapy, Visceral Manipulation, TAMO movement strategy, as well as various other manual therapies. In addition, she is certified in Neurodevelopmental Therapy for pediatrics. She has worked with infants, children and adults in a variety of therapeutic settings. |
